Since I LOVE reading Manga, I decided to include a short tutorial on how to read the manga you download off of IRC.

The first thing you need is a picture viewer... windows/mac/unix all come with one, but I recommend you use ACDSEE for viewing your manga (Other images too, it's great for photos!). You will also need the plugins for ACDSEE that allow you to view .zip, .rar, .ace, etc files. I have provided these files for you, get them HERE and make sure you save them in your "plugins" directory under the directory you installed acdsee to.

I personally do not scan/edit manga, but I know lots of people who do. If you decide to scan in your manga (and edit it into english if neccessary) the first thing you should do is check the in IRC channel and on DailyManga to see if it has already been released, or is in the process of being released, there are many Groups out there releasing titles every day!! You should also make sure that the tiles is NOT licenced in the USA yet!

Once you have determined that no other groups have completed (or are in the process of completing) the title you want to scan, you may want to read DontHurt's Scanning/Editing FAQ (which is mirrored on my site). It is a very well put together tutorial on how to make the high quality releases that have become the standard in the on-line Manga world. You can also try this one if the first one doesn't answer your questions.

Once you have completed scanning/editing your manga PLEASE upload it to the people in the channel so that they may spread it around for others to enjoy!!!
